Whois Proxy
The whois proxy returns information on an internet domain or IP address.
Most Top Level Domains (TLDs, i.e. .com, .net. .de, .ca, etc.) are looked after by one or more government or private organizations known as registrars - in order to register a domain, you have to do so through the appropriate registrar(s).
A whois query asks the registrar whether a particular domain is registered, and to whom. Most registrars offer their own whois service - this whois proxy aggregates the whois services of multiple registrars, allowing you to query various TLDs through a single interface.
